Infinity
(In memory of Michelle)

"God knows what infinity is."
Faith from a four year old.
I wish I was so sure.

Do your colt legs race
down streets of gold?

Were you forced again through birth?

Do you float somewhere in limbo?

I ache to know what lies
down death's dark halls,
around the corner of this life
just to see
if God knows what infinity is.

Fishing for Faith

Underline in red
the mistakes I've made,
sliding under ropes
that were meant to keep me out,
listening to the truth
of all this silence.

Play me a song
that covers and stills
the noisy breath
of my searching heart
and opens the sky
to the filiment
of my questioning pole,
to fish for truth
in heaven's galaxy.

Oh Martie ... such beautiful pondering. The imagery and phrasing as always, brings me into the depths of your thought. Very much enjoyed both of these delicate pieces.

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit

Martie, both of these are beautifully written.  I do believe I like the first one best...but they are both excellent.

Ah Martie, I too would like some answers. I know I should accept the ones that are given but sometimes I too just want more.  Hearthugs to you sweet lady.

These are beautiful, Martie... such incredible imagery. Both poems are written with a delicate pen, but pack such power.

And you know a blonde's thought processes are always doubtful... mine more than most. *S* But the fact that you still question would indicate you believe answers are available... that IS faith. *S*

I like the two of these blending hope in God and in His infinite wisdom...for he was a fisher of man, and my dear...

He has taught you very well...

there is an answer for every question ever asked...the timing may be off, but it will always be in His time...

thank you for the hearthugs, Martie...your writing always brings me back to earth, easily, quietly, with conviction...

Smiling...Michelle taught you more in her short lifetime than 100 professors could have taught you in 20 years and she still continues to teach us with your poetry. The faith, the trust, the innocence of a child...something we all could stand to have.
God bless you my friend

Martie these tug at my heart so. I wish you peace, although sometimes I think there is no peace, just love and yearning. I am so happy you and I can write this out. God bless.floria

Never accept what is given find the truth for yourself ask the questions and then test the depth of the answer given. If it does not ring true it is not true. No matter what you want to believe the truth is the truth. And faith is seen in all that is made around us. Art is not art for nothing.
