Well here is a real wintery poem. I just remembered that I had it in my files, I wrote this about four months ago..is wintry spelled right?

A WINTRY TUNE

'Twas the night before the dawn
When sweet darkness covered me,
Quiet filled the star lit sky
And everywhere I see,
Golden lights aglow
From houses warmed by fire
And children dancing to and fro
All dressed in sleep attire.

Then smoke from chimneys swirl
As the cold night air chills,
I watch the smoke just twirl and twirl
Across the snowy hills,
Then music fills the air
From chapel down the road
As people dressed in muffs and furs
In horse drawn carriage rode.

The crystalline iced snow
Sparkles under the reflecting moon,
And every crunchy step you take
Forms a wintry tune.
My soul is filled with joy
Yet with a heavy heart,
My story's coming to an end
Soon winter must depart
And once again the summer days
Will slowly melt my heart.

Floria darling girl OH MY! Such an outstanding and beautifully crafted piece of writing, I’ve read fabulous pieces from you before this is simply stunning. Truly you’ve outdone yourself darling girl.

Utterly utterly wonderful writing

Thank you Ecrivan, I prefer this spelling in this poem, but I would want to know if it was incorrect. In that case I would have to change it. thanks much. floria

Thank you Mushy, well, this wasn't crafted. After my don died, and I was so in a traumatic state, a handfull of poems came to me. I knew nothing, zero about writing. This is one of them, and when i post the others I will identify them, I don't know who wrote them, but my hand did it, who was in my mind I have no idea and never will. I have heard of a muse. but.....oh well. I don't know, thank you. floria

Oh yes, Floria, there is a Muse...and he or she can be of many forms, and may come at any time, night or day, or inbetween...a muse is a wonderful link to insight that has always been with us, but we were never quiet enough to hear...

but a poet hears...and in that hearing, goes to link the muse with the words through the form of ink or music or paint.  Note: I said a poet hears...and what is an artist of paint or music if not a poet first?

So let your Muse sing, Floria, and we shall be the humbled beneficiaries of all that he or she may have to say, through you...

Write on!

Floria this is beautiful!!  I also echo everything that Karilea said.  It is freezing here today and I do hope Spring is on it's way.

(smiles) Awwwwwww, this is soooooo beautiful, sweet friend, my heart goes out to your loss and somehow I believe that we all go through these losses and when we learn compassion and tears from them, our heart opens up to so much more and all it takes is just a hope or dream or something to strive for to make your Muse come alive! (kiss on cheek) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is soooooo beautifully touching, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Floria, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Yes I have heard so much of this Sunshine and I wonder could it be God for me? Since I lean on Him so much? thanks for explaining that, It used to be very frightening to me. I would get so afraid. But I got used to it, and now I pray for it. Funny huh?  I will tell you a little secret. Shhhhhhhhhh My muse writes better than me. floria

Nancy thank you so much for your kind words.Yes I love snow but I am waiting for spring also. Although I wont be on here much as I will have to be outdoors. floria

Yes Noah, you are right, I do think that the inner soul opens up when something devastating happens, and the chapter that I have in a poetry book I called " My Inner Soul" because that is exactly what I believe it is. and I am grateful for it. thanks noah. floria
