The is something about these recent nights
making me wonder if I ever really knew you.
Did your voice turn my heart inside out
the first time you said hello to me?
Did your laugh make me smile
and realize, in hindsight,
that I hadn't known a laugh as genuine as yours
for a very long time?
Nights without your ears to drink my sound
and fill your soul with the announcement of my love for you
makes things in life so much more difficult to bear.
I'm just down to not believing in my existence
as long as I don't have your magic to reassure me.
Perhaps that is why you're gone right now
so I can believe in myself without any help.
Darling, what a difficult task that is.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are dreams to be dreamt
but I sleep with restlessness
since your soft "I Love You"
isn't here to tuck me in.
There are moments to think of you
in AM hours when our moon
touches the magic of our love
and parades it before jealous stars,
but I make love to lonliness
in the absence of our long goodnights.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How, in the madness of needing you
can I be so daring as to live normally?
To wake in the morning seems to take
a great amount of strength and nerve.
How, in the wake of desiring you,
can I even think of doing anything
but sitting on the edge of myself
in perfect composed wait for your return?
How guilty am I for going on doing the daily mundane
when there is so much "loving you"
that has to be done?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I know you
and because of that
I'm loving you
and because of that
my heart sings
and because of that
hope dances around me
and because of that
and all of this
I am afloat in adoration
both yours and my own.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

How grave is my condition, for I cannot find the words to say, I need you so.

Certain lines in this impressive collection of expression, just went thru me...

"How, in the wake of desiring you,
can I even think of doing anything
but sitting on the edge of myself

that one took my breath away....for its content and its reflection,
So that was you in my mirror  *L*
This Jenn girlie--tis much more than a "note."

(love your new sig)

So it seems your saving grace was only saving face,
you thought he was wanting you...
but he was only wanting you to let him off the hook.

Jenn, this is amazing!  You reached right down in there and pulled these feelings out for us to see.  Wonderfully penned.  I am not even going to point out my favourite lines as it wouldn't do this piece justice.  It should be read in it's entirety.

These notes play very well.  If they are heard.

Thank you.
