Optimism

Optimism is born in the heart
seeds of life planted deep in the soul
body and mind are united
indivisible,unbroken,whole

when expectations are lost along the way
with words of belief ringing hollow
confidence plays a steep price
as mind beckons body to follow

woeful despair breaks the spirit
of even the mightiest ones
in closing the curtains to future
lifetimes come quickly undone

survival can hinge on expectancy
while building the castles of hope
the mind can gather it's forces
urging the body to cope

in the ebbing of stress and strife
lie the keys to a happier, healthier life

YAY!!! Ooohhhhhhh...I couldn't agree with you more, sweet friend, I went through an entire boyhood being abused and I used to think I was born to be hated and never to be loved, but then I met a close friend teacher who went through all the same pain and he taught me to be optimistic and so now I share my love to the world everyday and ever since I know things can look up if you believe in yourself! (kiss on cheek) This is gorgeous, sweet friend, we all love you so so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lyra, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Noah...I can tell that you are a very optimistic person, by the way you write and reply to the poems of others...but, I am so sorry about your childhood abuse.
There are many people with that experience who grow up to be very mean......but it seems to have made you into a very nice and sweet young man.  I am proud of you for overcoming that. ((hugs))

Lori...thanks for your kind words.
I wrote this poem because I believe that optimism makes everything feel better...and I am seriously in need of some of that stuff also.

Thanks so much, Lia.  Sometimes its hard to be optimistic.....but trying really helps and optimism really helps things feel better, even if they are not really better.

Lauren...thanks so much for your reply...
I have had so many horrible things happen to me during the past few years, that I have found that the only way to get through it all is to try to be optimistic. ((hugs))

Wow! Lyra, you sure know how to get my attention. Of course you know that I am a super optimist. So optomistic that I cannot even contemplate failure or looking at the dark side of anything. I just think that one needs clarity of thought and patience, and the anything, I mean anything at all is possible. Of course we must be somewhat oblivious to time and space. As all things are part of God's plan. But we are promised that we will receive anything that we ask, seek or knock for. And I believe that this means spiritually. But the physical will always follow the spiritual when it is pure. Am I rambling? I do that a lot.

Yes! There is nothing true but optimism! Pessimism is a lie. Period. At least that's my belief.

Wonderful, wonderful poem, Lyra. You are a fantastic poet and I love you.

A poetic reply?

Why be pessimistic and guarantee a fail
When there is always hope your ship will float and sail
It makes good sense to always bet on coming light
As closing doors will always guarantee a dark night.

Always be optimistic!
