Hollow Eyes

Two lives
Wondering
Where am I going wrong
Where is that sweet song
That for which I long
Where have I gone wrong

She lives two lives
Neither are replete
One she lives with him
And gives him hollow eyes
Won’t say the words of love
Which have long since gone
Neither will she steal his trust
Her commitment wears along

The other life, she lives within
In the quiet of her world
Where the silk is thin
Like the skin she is in
Where she has found herself
And is content with that treasure
Where she buffers all the waves
And takes her daily measure

So then, her eyes glow
In the like of her soul
Where she can find peace
Come to some ease
For how can one love another
If one doesn’t love oneself?

She picks herself up
And dusts herself off
Leaves her world of quiet
Returns to his held aloft
And offers…hollow eyes

Thus commited, reprised.

Lady this is utterly utterly superb writing, oh how agonising it must be to live like this. Two lives, in neither complete, and always the yearning to unite the soul that is of necessity kept split.

I really do understand this feeling well, and applaud anyone who has the strength to live like this, knowing I couldn’t.

Wonderful writing I’m sure there are many souls in the world who this applies to, God bless them everyone.

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh my gosh, my heart too cries out to many who have to live this way and cope with the emptiness of seperation and struggling to love ones self in the process! (big hugggsssssss) This is a very powerfully emotional poem, sweet friend, my thoughts and prayers go out to all these people too, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

We all deserve happiness - we need to take control of our encumbrances - lest they control us...Nicely said, Lady...

Dear Lady,  I am pleased you reposted this one for me as I did not read it before.  The exquisite way you have with penning words has been missed.  Hope you are back to stay for at least awhile as I appreciate your style of writing so.  This is such a sad and haunting piece.  No one should have to live this way, although I understand that there are those who do.  Tis when I read ones such as this that I do indeed smile at how blessed and happy my life is.  Thank you again for posting this one.

Very powerful and intense, Lady.  Such strength and pain mixed.  Hauntingly poignant but yet wonderful in her knowing what she holds inside.  Incredible.  Hugs

I loved the line "And she gives him hollow eyes"  Truly wonderful, heartfelt words you've woven here.  I really enjoyed reading.
