in a forbidden time and place
when beauty was a silent face
just a fraction of reality
there was a hint of destiny
in a place called the diamond mountains
where riches lay like water from fountains
and I traveled there to find this gem
one that people always find on a whim
the stone that changes the path they take
a rock by which all bonds will break
and new bonds will be formed from what remains
gathered and scattered life it still contains
take a peak at the range before you
standing tall defiant in what you do
you can't control the rock that you must face
you can't control your road in this place
and the diamond mountains will never fall
no matter the army, nor the horn that call
Valhalla's riders are no match for this stone
for those who don't find it you're destined alone
this quandry of love that's so hard to decode
a master that slaves you into a difficult mode
with peaks as sharp as knives before you
trapped in a world where you don't know what to do
the story comes closer to what you see
and you are what you really want to be
snared by the future you love and desire
held in place by the cold and the fire
this is the land of the diamond mountain
where forever is judged in a single fountain
on the top of the peak in a silver well
by a blind old hag born out of hell
and an angel of heaven to give up his soul
to trade for the lives that will be made whole
as they flip a coin and wait for the splash
time only telling if love will last
from your wish you'll find an angels face
and the prize you find will change the place
you'll find that the mountains always change
it's a never ending fluid-like range
grows stronger and weaker with each passing dream
cutting and sewing the masterful seam
with each passing life that crosses the pass
they take with them a tiny piece of the mass
making it smaller and smaller for it to be
while those that die put back what we see

this poem paints beautiful pictures for me. Beautiful like the words themselves.

A very profound piece here.  I found much that I identified with and enjoyed.
