He thrives on her pleas--
self-martyred,
proud,
and poised
as he waits to die.

I know I have sinned,
drive the spikes in deeper!

he pleads to his audience.

A psychological murder of the heart--
bloodless and state-of-the-art.
He yearns for a slow suicide,
and beckons her to join him.

Deafened by her own screams,
with his foot upon her dreams,
she looks away--
no tears in her eyes.

Let none behold her.
