I can recite for you all of my
RadioShack portable phone's features;
for I've stared at it for hours on end.
It's a 900MHz monster, a button I push
and it can switch lines;
it has the power to page folks,
and one button will connect me to the
operator.
I can redial numbers after I've pushed them,
can select the strength of the tone,
or of the volume.
Anonymous callers are found out
with its hitech caller ID,
and it has a 99 address
memory, through which anyone
can scroll with a few buttons.
And there are even numbers
which I can apply pressure to,
to spell out your phone number.
And if I push "Talk" it dials these numbers.
But it can't force you to pick up the phone;
so I wait at the phone,
staring at its features for hours on end,
hoping to receive your voice.
