Fallen Angel

I've dreamed beautiful dreams,
seen wonderful things,
and sat upon a star.
I've held life in my hands,
love in my heart,
shared my soul with the heavens,
the earth, and all of those who dwell thereon.
An Angel to them I always was,
and ever will be, though tarnished now.
Plagued by reality I've lost my glow,
my shine from within,
my innocence, naivete.
An Angel…yes,
but fallen from their eyes.

Wesley Hi there this is a very well written poem I like it, how far did you fall? I’d help you rise, I’m sure you’ve never fallen as far as some you don’t look too awful

Wonderful writing I really do like it
I wub you

Love and warm stuff
As always

Ah, my friends...'Tis not the distance, but the fall that hurts - and the inability to remake the climb. 'Tis the gulf between my daughter and me - and try as I might, I'm still unable to swim; so the above are my verbal tears, to mingle with the wet ones I've cried.

My thanks for listening...

Jimmy.

Thank you all for your words...and Krissy - for the smile.

Jimmy

Time has a way of changing things...that and love, which it seems you have plenty of to give. I would say, don't be so hard on yourself. Sometimes children expect angels, yet we are all human. Hugs!

Hello...
How would we know how far we flew, if we never took a dive or two?
Good thoughts. ThisDiamond

It sucks when that happens... hopefully as she gets older she'll realise that her father is the one man in her life that she can count on.

My children keep me jumping through hoops,
and bring me to tears more times than not.
I look towards the future and wonder where they will be and if they will still need me.
I sympathize with you and empathize with these words from your pen.

J, verbal tears...I have been cryng them for far too long myself. If I could I would help, I am a great mediator of all but for my own self.

Thank you for your beautiful words, they touched me this morning, changing my course of thought, which needed it.

hugs

time changes everything..and my daughter wasnt the easiest to get along with but now that she has children of her own..she often remembers the girl she use to be..she says things like.."mom i was rebellious wasnt I" often tells me she should have listened to me...hopefully yours will change too..

JWesley,
Please don't despair...I know we daughters can hurt very often. I do it to my dad too but I realize...and feel sorry. You dads are too precious and sweet. I hope things will become fine between you and your daughter.
I loved your poem and you are an Angel...flying high and not fallen!

The hearts and compassion of others never ceases to amaze me. You guys always give, give, give - to the happy, the sad, the healthy, the sick. But it's really with those that have been knocked askew that you shine so brightly, and share with so deeply.

I came in here this morning to delete this because its more personal than I wanted to share with the world and was floored by the number and quality of responses received. I thought, surely, my email address has been crossed with someone elses.

I treasure the way you've touched my soul, and though I once in awhile just let the feelings get to me, I'm not a despondent person, by any means. This is the first I've truly written about the subject, and feel sure will be the last - it said all my heart needed to say, whether other eyes could see that or not.

I thank each and every one of you, from the bottom of whatever I am, for the touch of your hand.

My heart beats for you all.

jimmy

Jimmy, I have lots of problems with my daughter, too. She is an adult, with her own little ones, but we still have so many problems. I sure do understand these feelings. And also from another aspect, as my father and I had a very very minimal relationship, and the little of it was very strained.
Its hard. And you should never be afraid to share, see all the people that care? I know being here has helped me lots, seeing how there are truly some good people left in the world.
Hugs

jwesley...I've known you through your immensely talented poetry. You are like me...a misplaced angel, maybe. Yet, I know you will find your place among the angels, once again...as I will.  You have a good heart, jwesley.  Love may have escaped you, flittered away for a time; but the real Love, the one founded in God, is, has been, and will always be there.  You and I are held in the palm of His Hand.  You will soar, again, Jwesley...

*sigh* James...my heart goes out to you....I know these feelings so very well....I was going to spend my time before work writing a poem but after this poem caught my eye I just had to respond to it....Time has a tendency to heal so much....I pray that this too will heal...I know your heart is torn and broken and tears flow from the soul of your heart for your words reflict it very clearly...Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and with so many others here I send you hugs that I hope bring you a small measure of comfort....**big big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Jimmy some of the best poems are the ones that come from deep down inside. I know, I never wrote until my son died, then something just happened and I had to write, and everything was from the soul, deep, sad, despondant, Those are the best my friend, And we seem to be happy to share everything with each other on this most wonderful forum. I am glad you are here. Keep writing from your feelings and you will never go wrong. God bless. floria
