I am not beautiful.
I have never been a Freshman Queen;
never worn a beauty pageant crown.
I know I would never turn any heads
if I were to go out on the town.

I am no fashion model.
I could never grace the pages of Vogue;
no cosmetics firm would hire me,
and I would never be the leading lady
for some motion picture company.

I have never seen a ravishing beauty
in the reflection in my mirror,
just an ordinary woman
looking back at me from there.
I am just me.

But when I look into your eyes and see
what you see when you look at my face,
and when you say that I am beautiful
I do believe that is the case.
I am beautiful!

Even the most beautiful woman can not feel beautiful if she isnt happy..it is wonderful to feel beautiful..i always felt truly beautiful when in love..hugss

I was going to object to this title, just cause I can't believe it would be correct. I like the way you did this. It is so true, that we often see ourselves reflected in the eyes of someone who loves us, and it seems the reflection grows more beautiful. Sadly, the opposite seems to be true as well.

Yes beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Thanks everybody.

The idea of this is that we may not havea ravishingly beautiful face, but when someone who loves us (anyone, a lover, husband, child or parent) looks at us it's what shines through from the inside that they see as our beauty, and that is very real.

Its wonderful to have someone who thinks we're beautiful no matter what the rest of the world thinks. And when they think we're beautiful inside and out..always reminding us of that, well..that is a treasure not to be taken for granted.

This poem speaks simple truth. I love it.

For all who watch.Dare you say hello? Come in and ask the questions that are on your mind, but spare me your judgement until you truly sipped of me.
