I touched stone,
placed a bouquet
over your name,
outlined the dates and
folded the flag.

Then I turned
remembering
a wedding cake,
sweet William
and woodruff
in baby's breath.

I covered my face
in black
lace...

I cupped my hands
to gather once
again the tiers of tears
from another emotion-
one of veiled loss.

Emily my heart goes out to you. You are in my heart and in my prayers as you go through this valley.

"It is in the valley of darkness,
That we learn to trust.
As we call out to God ,
He will appear.
And give us the strength to bear."

Very beautiful Emily, and though I can't know what you know, feel what you feel, my heart mourns with yours.

Interesting write, emily.  I have to say I was very shocked to see you here, but I guess all good things must end eventually.
