Through the Eyes of Rhapsody

How do I play this sentient song
like cotton sheets
with sunshine’s perfume
cooled by evening

Take the Johnny-jump-up
in the crack of the highway
nodding with the passing car
testing the purity of innocence

Mix in light
pouring through a tiny hole in the shade
and touching the babies fuzzy head
with a  halo of light

Then add the gray catfish
quick and precise through twilight water
in and out of mossy fabric
consuming daylight’s last bejeweling

Then touch it with a pinch
of tomorrows mellow dawn
toss in the sound of mourning dove
with an apple’s crisp bursting flavor

Then take a smile
and tuck it soft
into the folds of dreams
and feel a lover’s touching tender

Now all the wonder that is a minute
warm in bosomed sweet fragrance
where loosened hair pours across the pillow
to catch each breath in passion’s touch

and that is a beginning

This is truly beautiful Martie, the johnny jump ups, I could see them. People say they cannot get inspired and yet there is so much all around us to inspire us, and I see you take full advantage of that, lovely poem. floria

Martie you took some of my favorite things like the smell of fresh sheets, the fuzz on our baby's head, etc. etc. well see how I say them, then there is Martie's way of saying them, that makes me sit here and simply just sigh!

(smiles) Awwwwwwww, this is sooooooo beautiful, sweet friend, just the thought of lying my head on my pillow and feeling the sun seep through the blinds with the croon of a dove makes me smile! (kiss on cheek) We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is absolutely lovely! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martie, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

I love the way you turn even the most mundane things into poetry.

Then add the gray catfish
quick and precise through twilight water
in and out of mossy fabric
consuming daylight’s last bejeweling

Beautifully done, Martie
