Out There
By: Noah Eaton
2/28/02

I wanted
To be somebody other like you
You wrapped your heart in bobbin lace
Trying to weave a parquetry of memories
I thought that
It was hopeless
Then you reached your hand out
And showed me the way

Your photographs
Are all I have now
You are all I want
I want you to be my souvenir
It’s not easy
It shouldn’t be so hard
How can I make you mine?
There has to be some destiny between you and me…

If I had the chance to
I would hold you
Hand in hand
We’ll fly away from here
It is so cold outside
And all you need is someone to care
Somehow I’ll wash away your tears
And find you out there

I feel weary
I wish you were there to hold me
Deep inside me
I find myself keep hanging on
I need you badly
Without you my heart just bleeds
Answer the phone
I need your company

If I had the chance to
I would hold you
Hand in hand
We’ll fly away from here
It is so cold outside
And all you need is someone to care
Somehow I’ll wash away your tears
And find you out there

Reach me
I have waited so long
Reach me
Without you, it’s hard to carry on

If I had the chance to
I would hold you
Hand in hand
We’ll fly away from here
It is so cold outside
And all you need is someone to care
Somehow I’ll wash away your tears
Will you find me standing out there…

Will you see me standing alone out there…
Will you find me…

It has occured to me that you have commented on most of my poems and I have been sadly lacking in commenting on yours.I will try to mend that. This poem reminds me of the song "People who need poeople".You are truly one of the lucky people.

i don't think any woman wants to be a souvenir.  She wants to be wanted, not owned
The courting should never stop.

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Noah-

Wow this is fanstastic!! I believe this
is one of your finest pieces that I've
read. I believe that your love will find
you and when you do, true happiness will
come your way. I wish you all the best
my sweet friend. And yes keep hanging on
for sometimes in our darkest moments is
when sunshine is peeping right around the
corner. Take care.

This is such a lonely, but hopeful piece.

Be patient...
