Not a Clue

Butterflies, real and ideal
Fly o’er the sands of my time.
Displaying webs of fine surreal
Making impossible their rhyme.

I hear the song and feel the free
I see the sight and sense the hue
But I cannot free the mystery
Or lift the mist or write a clue.

They’re beyond my ability
Only in a dream can I write
Living a world of fantasy
The darkest dark turns to light.

I write the shadow of the true
A vision of the narrow end
That which my hand passes through
But my mind can’t see the blend.

Perhaps some day they’ll grace my pen
And I in word will fly their glen.

I really liked this and the last verse was beautiful.

"perhaps some day they'll grace my pen
and I in word will fly their glen."

Thanks for a quiet morning read. it had such a peacful and relaxing flow.

There is no place that you cant go ...
when thy pen flows in poetic bestow.
There is no extreme of dreamer's dream ...
that thy pen of supreme cant put down in theme.

The sky knows no limits when you write its flight ...
you rise and set its suns and hang its moon at night.
There are no doors that you cant cross through ...
when you believe in the magic of you, just as I do.

For I have seen your pen's poetic grace ...
I have witnessed its surpassing of time and space.
I have watched it define in rhyme divine ...
as it entwined our minds in dreamer's design.

There are no skies of sigh that you cant fly ...
as long as thy wise eyes seek the butterflies.

I wonder how far they soar..and if you would pass this way, resting upon a flower in my garden...
Whenever I see a butterfly now
I will think of you *s

WOW!!! I couldn't agree with you more, sweet friend, butterflies are one of my favorites and they are always so beautifully breathtaking it is impossible to specify their beauty in reality alone! (big hugggsssssss) We all love you so much, sweet friend, you are a true butterfly that flitters with friendship among these pages! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Seymour, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

JM,
And you are the butterfly
That haunts my sky
Sets and waits in the greenery
With raspberry cookies and tea.

First the butterfly on belly crawls
sees a limb, it hangs in sprawl
then most ideally, a cocoon to splurge
in hibernation and then emerge

in brilliant hue just like your word
that in its bent, is duly heard...

Seymour - I think you underestimate yourself.  For I think the butterflies are already in your pen, because this is a fine write.  Well done.

There is nothing quite like a nice flutterby write, and this was a nifty one indeed - with you the sky is the limit
