I sit here alone in this bar
drinking you offa my mind,
trying to forget what we once shared
now I'm sitting here contemplating,
if you ever even cared.

shot after shot-
I slam 'em down,
driving myself to the brink,
bartender set up another round
give me whiskey to drink.

Sam says 'You're damned and determined
tonight,
is there a struggle there your trying to fight?'
I smile and say 'Just set 'em up ,
I need to forget my heartache and fears.'
Help me out Sam, Im gonna drown 'em tonight
in a bottle of whiskey and tears.

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Donna, this is so very sad, my heart goes out to the many who drown their hearts in spirits and only ruin their hearts more with liquor. (big hugggssssss) This is so very sad, sweet friend, my heart goes out to them all, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Donna, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

We can't really drown our sorrows
but we can take the edge off temporarily.
It certainly helps to spill it all out!

This reminded me of an old John Anderson tune "Don't Ask Her on a Straight Tequila Night"... when she's "trying to shoot that memory down." Don't ask me why I know all the words. *S*

This is excellent, GS... when you can't get any answer to the WHYs battering your brain, you sometimes think drowning them might be the way to find peace. *S* But they float... entirely too well. *S*
