Tis true that I am proud to be the Irish heritage in me,But more proud than that I am, to call myself American. For one my roots across the sea, and one my country tis of thee. Two flags wave side by side, one heart alone filled with pride.
Tis True sometimes I believe, I hear old Ireland calling me. She whispers softly across the sea, come back sweet child come back to me. From deep inside she calls me home, me the child her the womb. She will never at peace, till the journey is complete. Where heritage and country meet, and Irish sod is at my feet. She will embrace me, Releasing me too, back home to my country the red white and blue.

Was very excited to see your name up here today, Lia.  You've been missed sorely by some here and this poem is a prime example why.  You have a natural gift for words - and the flow is near perfect.  I could almost hear bagpipes playing softly in the background.      Looking forward to seeing more from you.

Michael

I don't know if I told you this story, Lisa, but in light of your debut theme, I thought you might find it interesting.

When the Chicken Soup people contacted me, I think it was something of a last resort. Sort of like the archetypical guy who will drive around the block for three hours before stopping to ask for direction. Any way, they had already spent quite a bit of time looking for you, but obviously without any success. You want to know why they failed?

So much of your poetry at the main site is about Ireland, THAT is where they were looking for you. They even called directory assistance, I heard. I still picture a little old lady as the Irish operator taking their call, chuckling to herself when they asked for a listing for Lia Fail. Since no one told them the significance of your pen name, I can only assume it was a private joke the operator took home to her family. Silly Americans! (For those who don't know, that would be something like calling a US operator and trying to get the number for the Plymouth Rock.)

Welcome home, old friend …

and I've got just that touch of Ireland in me also, but am in the land of red white and blue, and I am very thankful that you are
at passions too!!  Welcome, and welcome back.  I look forward to reading much of your works.  This was lovely.
