Singing To Be Heard

If the song isn’t heard is it still sung?
Do the notes however sweet and clear
Still shine? Do they still ring?
With love and light, yes
But sweeter by far are the songs
Sung with light and heard by me
Sung by you to your music

I have no gift to write words of loving grace
I simply read your words and taste
Your trace, follow you through
Halls of golden splendour, mirrors refracting
Follow your light into dreams
Follow your soul’s music and I dance
To the tune you play

Within these hallowed halls I drift slowly
Your words hanging here and there
I share with you their perfumed trace
Your voices summoning me to dance
You enchant and entice me on
Here I’d stay to bathe my eyes
In beauty here I’d stay always with you
In delight and hope

Somewhere else the world carries on
And eventually I must return
Turn astern and sail back to reality
But not yet let me drift with you
Float in lover’s dreams
Hear hope and hearts singing joy
Wonder yes I feel that and awe
You all have such a gift
Which you share with me

So for a little while longer I’ll stay here
Drifting on clouds of beauty
Your poetry your hearts welcome me
I’m home here in your arms
Poetic love’s sing joyously to me
And I respond to you
As a flower revives in summer rain
Even if I have no gift to give
I give you me the reader

And I’ll read you always

Krissy

Hum with me, little one
for a song I cannot render
hum with me, little one,
for still the music is so tender

sing with me a bit of song
as we read poets, one by one
to carry us through the night so long
as we read poets, one by one

Welcome to Passions, Krissy!  Please!!! Check your E-mail for a Very Special Greeting!!!

Welcome to passions! We write...and we write in different ways as well as styles. I do not see why you don't write, I see you writing from your heart to express yourself... keep doing so... and we will read.

it's been said that a poet's first poem is always their worst. . . I don't know who said that. . . but, I'm sure that they knew what they were talking about. . .

you've taken that first step. . . now, take another. . . and another. . . and, before you know it, you'll be farther then you were when you started. . .

welcome. . . it's good that you're here. . . and say Hi to your Mum for me ok??

Krissy,
Wish my daughter wrote here! And hey...stop beating yourself up. Free verse is cool and I like your thoughts. But most of all I like that you are here and that you try. Because...that means you'll only get better. I felt exactly as you do when I started and then didn't write for thirty years. I'm old huh? Don't STOP...okay.

Oh MY!! I never thought that this, and I won’t tell you what mum called it but I agree with her, would generate so many responses. Thank you all sincerely. It is a great honour to be here among so many fine poets. I will try to write again, but I warn you it won’t be a lot of good. But I know if I stay around you all I will maybe pick up a little bit of your gift by a type of osmosis. I do know I'll be uplifted, moved, enchanted, fall in love and out of it, travel near and far all by reading your wonderful poems

Thank you every one of you, you have made me very welcome, and I hereby promise that if I write again, and I have to tell you I’m doing a duet with my mum, I will try not to make it too often. No one, least of all me, wants to hear clashing symbols when there is such an orchestra of talent playing such beautiful music.

Continue to delight my soul with your delicious music, again thank you, you are all singing and I hear you

Oh, Krissy... *chuckling to myself*

I honestly don't know how old I was when I first started writing, but some (unkind *G*) fate preserved several poems written when I was 7 or 8... and about all that can be said for them is that everything was spelled correctly. LOL Come to think of it, that still applies to much of my work. *G*

You've obviously inherited your Mom's talent... so keep writing and we'll keep listening. *S* Welcome to Passions!

Krissy, you seem to still think that you are less worthy of the praise and encouragement that we lavish on each other.  You are an extremely talented young lady!!! And this your first poem here is great, I love your imagery. We are all poets here.. all humanity is poetry...

You are a good poet as soon as you try to reach us with your words.
You are a great poet when those same words touch your heart first.

Krissy,

For a first poem or a 90th poem that was lovely.  I still don't think I can write either but have posted over 200 poems.  I hope you will enjoy it here as much as I do, and share your heart with us, as it looks like it is full of love to share.

Again, welcome.

Again I thank you for the kind welcome, I know I have a long way to go but here I expect to learn a lot. I’ve already learnt that there are some very nice people here. (I did actually know that my mum told me and she’s rarely wrong) Only when it comes to the men I date, the music I listen too, or that Sushi is edible, does she get it wrong.

Thank you all once again and I am truly overwhelmed by your welcome and gratified that you like this.
