In Your Poetic Mind

0 posted 2002-02-25 05:02 PM

Outside my window a
Storm is approaching
Leaves float
On the wind
I sit by the window
Trying to translate
The wild flowers
Dancing
In my head some
Distant dream
Sits in silence
Waiting to be found
The aroma of fresh
Coffee tickles my nose,
I think but no
Words come to mind
I listen to the rain fall
Sounds heavy, but peaceful
In the room
Soft music is playing
It doesn’t help,
No words come to mind,
But I think;
The storm is letting up,
A rainbow appears
Against the black sky
I sit in awe of God's amazing creation
Words come to mind

Greeneyes~

Step through the
barrier of my mind,
enter my soul,
feel my desire,
let my eyes guide you
into the shadows
of my heart

Greeneyes,

you've put some pretty mental pictures in my mind with this poem! Rainbows are such a beautiful sight, I really appreciate them!
And rainfall tapping against the windows can be relaxing at times Very good poem.

Enjoyed your words that came to mind.

Like the lessons we learn in life,
or the light at the end of the tunnel.
I like to think there is always a rainbow after the storm.
I guess it is all how we perceive the changes that take place.

See ... distant dreams can come true.
All you have to do is have faith.
A brilliant spectical, both by God's hand and yours.

Oh isn't it just the truth, that in each rainbow everyone can find words of thanks?  This was a lovely poem.  (p.s. like the new picture)

Mm  I agree with you on the rainbow effect. It sure can brighten up a dark or lost moment.

beautiful words, Lauren.  You really brought the storm and the rainbow to life with your imagery.  I hope you find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow too! ((hugs))

Thank you all so much, this was inspired after I watch the skies go from blue to black, as I felt the storm....I realized God can really do amazing things....and the rainbow created was amazing, in all vibrant colors from one end of earth to the other so it seemed.....Thanks much for reading and hopefully enjoying.....
