Warm winds turned
Now chasing left over limbs
Half broken to hang
In useless mockery
Of the form and beauty
That was before

Some fall
Adding their mass
To the piles of debris
Destined for shredder

Some sway
Desperately clinging
To pinnacles once
Stretched higher
By their naked fingers

I observe
Turning up collar once again
To ward of the chills
To hide my flesh
From such icy touch

Turning my eyes away
I think of how like those limbs
We have become

What once was our shade becomes old and weathered, but like the branches I like to think we've learned to bend in the process.

Nothing ever stays the same does it?
This was very well done, however sad.

You know, my friend, I always thought science came aftermath

Instead, your wonderful poetry!

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Blues: Yes..I think we have learned to bend as we grew, yet at times even the bend will over stress and break. Thanks for the words...and for taking time to read.

Seymour: Thank you Sir... yes all things change, and those of us that have been around a while know that all too well.

Interloper: Depends on what schedule you took doesn't it? ;-)

Cpat,
'How like those limbs we have become'
Wow so true, life never stays the same, it's ever changing...but we should always keep striving to hold on the things that mean the most to us!  I love this

Cpat,
sometimes we are stripped bare to be renewed at a later time.
Good write
