million questions race
at a thousand miles an hour
zigzagging their hundred ways
into my slow sunday brain

why does love need a reason
a nagging reason to be?
what makes your needs, my desire
a desire of you to be mine?
and how can I make it look natural,
a way so natural and not make-believe?

nagging interrogations
by locusts of introspection
when simple words become
menacingly invisible
and the tough ones become
the whiplash from my tongue
pungent like some acid in
liquid cleansing agents

if love is all so pure,
what are we trying to clean?
if love can be a lie,
who cares who’s true, you or I?
who cares who’s who?
and what’s what?

I don’t want to be your
unintended lover,
and I hate playing games
if you give me the choice

oh! someone stop the gravy train
before it births a nasty migraine
oh! please someone stop the rain
before it gets too damp to be sane

ah! this ferocious heat
of uncertain times is burning
right through my skin
like laser through stone

just then, a kettle throws a whistle,
a harsh sound to drown harsh roars
of queries inside my head--
and I return to loving you again

ah! mercy was at last gifted
in spoons of sugar-sweet love
measured in kisses and treasured
in moments of longlasting embrace

and then, right then,
the questions rushed to hide
behind tall curtains as if
to discover for themselves
the ambiance of love
and to merge with the arms of
patience-clothed time

....

too many questions, far too little answers... maybe the answer lies in living in harmony with the ghosts, and not to answer all questions, lest we all become tipped with an all-reality-seeking poison that's set loose by the ever-questioning serpent inside our heads... just an after thought on a sunday morning maybe...

Sudhir, your writing just gets better and better.  This piece is very interesting and also very well penned.  It asks many well deserving questions that I think we all ponder...but, perhaps we should not question so much and enjoy love and life as it comes.  I agree with your after thoughts placed below the write.  Outstanding writing here my friend.

So much to think on here. I love the "Locusts of introspection"
I have millions of questions all the time, too, it's good when we can let them go for a bit.
