I Wrote You a Poem

by Michael

That I could be one drop of rain,
to fall on you, to trace your cheek,
to cling there closely as you breathe
and listen to each word you speak.

But I’m content to be your friend,
and share myself in other ways,
to store the blessings that you give,
to treasure you all of my days.

The morning wakes in seagull cries.
You’re sunrise diamonds on the SEA.
No one could know the gift you are
and all the smiles you bring to me.

Of  Mockingbirds and flowered branch,
of  sparkling stars that I saw weep,
all of my moods I’ve shared with you
and of me you still care to keep.

Through tears and joy you’ve been here
and held me through the worst of times.
When I thought I could write no more,
you proved to me I still have rhymes.

This poem to you is my embrace,
I hope that you can feel my kiss.
I love you dearly, always have.
You give me so much happiness.

I love you, Susan.

(((hugs)))
Michael

A most tender and touching poem. Chris
