Time Does Not Wait

Hour by hour, day by day,
Time passes by in a desperate way.
Minutes fly by as do seconds,
Time waits for no one, to us it beckons,
When we are young, we want to be grown.
Then as we turn older " to be young" we moan.
Time can be an enemy, always ready.
It waits for no one, it's movement so steady.
Every second not used is wasted.
Savor each minute, hold it and taste it.
Relish it long and hold it dear.
Live it with hope, and not with fear.
Time takes flight, travels so fast.
Never can you relive the past.
Hold on to each and every sweet essence.
Of time that you treasure, in pure acquiescence.
Along this road, will you travel no more.
Just one endeavor,
Then closes the door.

Floria darling girl I suppose you think that I’m going to praise you to the skies? Hmmm? …….. Well, of course I am, this is utterly utterly wonderful as YOU very well know.

Do you know how good this really is? Not just the sentiments although they are excellent. I mean the construction the flow the internal rhythm this is utterly stunning.

I find Time to be both haunting and teasing most of the time, an enemy at best, imho. Still, as you have captured so well in this piece, there is a need to make every moment count in most of us. Very well said.

Floria hi there this is a wonderfully written poem that has such a lot of truth within it.

Mum has a quote about time and a snowflake, but I can’t remember it But I do know who will know my favourite aunt Kethp (sorry I mean Kethry) she will know the quote. And this is as lovely as that quote. I do remember it said something about time was fleeting as a snowflake.

strbbux - one of my most favorites expressions, 'time does not wait'. So very true, and at times a very difficult concept to understand...
