Play Bard Dance

As I Am

Living in a world of snow and ice,
So beautiful but cold to touch,
Everything I reach for melts away,
Leaving me alone so much.

Why must It be so hard to rise above my fears?
I am to old to crawl on weakened knees.
My heart still holds a space for just one.
And I still wonder what he sees.

I want to say all I should, all I cannot.
His response is so different from the rest.
There was one who saw me as I was.
I hold him no more.  He's deep within my past.

Will tell him straight what I see inside his heart.
I leave my pen at home; No note alone will suffice.
No one else, no proxy only I can make this choice.
He will not know full my heart until I use my voice.

I was once afraid to grow, to reach,
Beyond the tomb surrounding me.
Built out of rejection, fear and frustration.
But I am outgrowing that piece of protection.

Does anyone see me here now as I am?
I long to be held close sharing love with another.
I will go mad if I do not find my shadow soon.
And I cannot rest until I do.

Thank you Sunshine.  ~~~I see you read my profile....LOL happy you liked it!

Peaches... I wrote this one a long time ago... about half a year before I met my husband... of course it took us until 3 years ago to get back together from 1986 and get married... I have a happy ending now.
And he is quite the shadow.

Ps...been trying to perfect this as you were reading this... messed up a couple times on the html links... music works now LOL

Thanks Pilgrimage... hope you were able to enjoy the music too

I loved this one, Sherry...and the beautiful picture too!
Did it come off your wedding cake...it looks very romantic and bridal.
Isn't it amazing how two swans kissing, look like a heart?

Thank you, Lyra, no the pic was not on our wedding cake... our cake was a two tier held up by pillars and collapsed while we were cutting it up to serve to our guests... if it were not for a friend of ours, it would have been a small scale disaster.... I have to look back and laugh at it all now.... I saw it going and closed my eyes grimacing, expecting that the next thing I would hear would be the gasps of wedding guests as the top piece hit the ground... that never happenned....
