~*Inkless Well*~

Once upon an inkless well
A poet sat and cried
She mourned a fateful day gone by
The day her muse had died

As tears forged streams across her cheeks
She started to recall
A time when ink flowed freely
And her words enraptured all

As she sat with tear-stained face
Wet parchment 'neath her pen
Her silent muse began to speak
The inkwell filled again

Now you can find her smiling
Penning verse from poet's heart
Contented in her knowing
Muse will ne'er again depart

~vlraynes

"...until you have read the verse on his heart,
you have not truly met the poet.

vicky,
what a delightful way to say "the pen of the poet never runs out of ink."
Terrific!

Oh shoot...see what I wrote to Ketrhy and insert here...your muse is only on haitus, my dear, and this poem proves it!  They love to tease us, our muses...and push us to write thus while they are out planning something Very Special...

so I shall wait for the next Vickiepoem to appear...knowing it

Welcome back to your muse and you poetess Vicky...
you know from all my whining about my moody muse that I understand this all to well...
Love the clever twist and word play in this...so good to see read your words here again.

Hi Vicky..I think every one who writes understands the flight of the muse away and back.  Good to see your poetry, and you!
