Silence is not golden.
I remember being told long ago,
that silence is golden.
I did not believe it then,
and I still do not believe it.
Silence is just silence.
It is not golden,
nor is it tarnished.
Sometimes
it is just
silence.
Yet it can
be more
deafening than
a thousand loud screams
in the darkest of nights.
It can be overwhelming.
It can be frightening.
It can be comforting.
It can be scary.
Sometimes though,
it is just
silence.
But the imagination
fills in all the blanks,
and the blanks may not be real.
Sometimes silence
is just
silence.
Nothing more,
nothing less.
What a scary thought.
Yet maybe more comforting
to know that it is so....
that maybe it means nothing
more than what it is.
Silence.

(smiles) Ooohhhhhhh...this is soooo very true, sweet friend, I can't help but say that silence is golden sometimes, perhaps the proper way in defining deafening silence and beautiful silence is to call silence the more nothingness and serenity the name of peace in silence! (kiss on cheek) We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is wonderfully thought-provoking! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kathleen, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Noah, when I finally get to Colorado, I'll definitely want to give you a big passionate poetic (motherly) hug. You are always full of love and kindness. Be careful, it is contagious, even when you think your "peers" aren't on the same wavelength. You'd be surprised who your real peer group is...or maybe you won't be  surprised at all? Big hugs to you.
OOPS I said bug hugs the first time. Sorry.

Dor, I'll send you my geneology chart someday. NOT!! I do have one. (On one family side.) BORING!!!! Yet maybe not so boring. My family tree records on one side go all the way back to England, 15th Century. Who knows? Maybe we are really sisters?   No matter, you are a sister of the heart.

Mushy, sweet mushy. Have you never experienced silence? Is England really as noisey as that, that you never have a moment of silence? LOL, thank you, sweet poetess.

Amuse, with three kids, I'd have to agree. Silence can be the golden moment of your day.

Brax, thanks! Don't stay silent now, OK?

Midnitesun, you hit the mark, a bullseye, with the precise definition of the fear
of silence, in 'filling in the blanks' with apprehensive imagination.  Such a difficult
concept to describe, the fear of silence, yet you capsulized it.

Outstanding piece of work, MS.  You done good, M'Lady!

Shadow tSR, your thoughtful replies are always welcome. Thanks.
Sandra, your words always touch the heart. Thank you, for your reply.
Heng, sometimes it realy should be down with the old outdated worn out statements...but sometimes I'm not sure what the 'new' is, or should be. Help???

Peaches, so happy to see you here. And it's a good thing for me the friends here at Pips aren't all silent.  I get tired of talking to myself.
