It seems I’m lost eternally,
That is to all except for me,
I am a proud and honored name,
Ten million more are named the same.

His given name, used every day,
Along with Tim, his sobriquet,
Makes him unique, a man alone,
His given name, to all is known.

His family name identifies,
Him to the world, it signifies,
From where he comes, his family tree.
He uses it for all to see.

And then there’s me, the middle name,
Finding me is quite a game,
Is he ashamed of who I am,
Am I to him, just useless spam?

It seems the only time I’m used,
Is when of wrong, he is accused,
By his mother, or by his wife,
With tone of voice of cutting knife.

Some day he’ll need me, but I’ll be gone,
And he’ll come calling, where are you John?

Now you see, there IS a reason for middle names, and when used with a first name, it means TROUBLE!  [Or high honor, whichever you think you might deserve...]  But when you are stuck with just one name, first last and only...then when Mom said Karilea I never knew if I was in trouble or not!

Cute, Tim!  Enjoyed Very Much!

The inevitable first/middle name threat! I think we all have heard that at one time.

Brother do I know this one well, and my Mother had a way of saying it that it hurt before she even got near me!  Cute Tim.

(smiles) Wow, I never thought of middle names being that helpful before, I guess when you speak to someone by their first name only it sounds polite but when you say their whole name, it can really stress and emphasize! (giggles) This is a wonderful poem about middle names and their significance, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Tim, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

LOL at this one, as I was never called by my full name unless I was in total doodoo.
Mom is gone, and now only the IRS calls me by my name. HAHA.

Cute Tim! Why do we do that? I do it all the time myself and don't know why. Maybe it's just to give ourselves a few extra seconds to gain or regain our composure?
