Stranded On The Edge Of Good-bye One night too many I took sadness by the hand And, still to this day there's such a hold on me Never a release for peace just it's grip for life Leads me to a world that smothers my desire to breathe... I'm stranded on the edge of good-bye to what once was But, that once upon a time keeps me down on my knees Agony surely molds the person I am today From a past that just won't set me free... Cause it's been raining for so long I can't find the sun And, my only escape to dry land is his heart So, while I am stranded here on the edge of good-bye A little life falls with each tear that we must sleep apart... God, the nights they fall so hard on my so broken self For, that's where the silhouettes of evil begin The ghosts of fear ride the darkness all around me And, I wake mournfully crying for him... Sometimes in the mist of an unpleasant thought I find myself reaching for him but he's gone It's that sigh in the God please help me kind of way That kills my very soul when I keep reaching on... I'm stranded on the edge of good-bye trying to ease this pain My only comfort in being alone finds me screaming his name For the times that the waters allow me to be by his side Are the only moments I'm safe to be stranded on the edge of good-bye... Saunni, if the poem wasnt written so poignantly, i would gush all over it, but the important thing here is to wonder why goodbyes take so long. The depth of feeling make it so hard; I Do understand so well. Love replaces love, dear Saunni. It comes and takes us by the heart, when the eyes stop looking. PB4S  |

Take comfort in the thought that the 'edge' is better than 'the beginning'. At least you are almost through!!! I love the emotion you apply to your work. You have an incredible gift!! |
