Dancing Deep Within
By Larry Chadwick

It’s funny how my feet don’t work,
For the music that is in my head.
But my hands seem to work just fine,
With the music in my heart instead.

Since I want to dance so much,
I think I’ll listen to my heart.
For that’s the one that matters,
And the best place I can start.

I think you’ll like the melody,
That plays deep down inside.
Put your ear upon my chest,
I can prove I haven’t lied.

So dance real still with me,
It’s what I do the best.
Now let me hear the tune,
You're hiding in your breast.

Dear Larry,
This is darling. I'm sorry, I know men don't want to hear anything called 'darling', but honest, it is. I like it.

Only one suggestion I would make to this heartfelt poem, check the last line, sound it out...one little edit and voila...

heartstring perfection...

I know this feeling, and you've captured it very well...and I'm glad to predict that when you are 90...you may not be shuffling those feet, but your heart will remain dancing...

Oooh... this took my breath away. Reminds me of a tender scene from an Indian movie...not to say that it's not original, but it (your poem)created a beautiful sensation in my heart...a sensation akin to the desire to dance.
Simply beautiful and sweetly intense

Larry darling boy now this is soooooooo incredibly well written, I love it.

Well, if you’re asking I’m dancing darling boy. Utterly utterly perfect, I swear I could hear the music playing deep within

As always the flow is divine and the structure is flawless, I doubt if you could write a bad poem if you tried.

Love and warm stuff
