where the heart finds me

Any Other Night

On any other night
the stars would climb into my lap
feeling the points prickle and jab
but tonight, o tonight
they orbit ‘round your face
arms spread wide in a great net
to catch just the right plunging nova
your luminous glow tugs at my passion
with tireless gravity
On any other night
luna light would outshine its cousins
but tonight, o tonight
I can see only your radiance
descending in peaceful lazy glimmers
closing my eyes
I make just one wish
on a falling star

Ecrivan:  and a neat reply, and a thank you!

SEA:   When you wish upon a star, dreams do come true!
            Sweet thanks.

Saunni: How's Virginny these days?     I couldn't decide on whether the title
should have just been: On Any Other Night or  Any Other Night...apparently
both worked!  That was a generous reply that made me smile broadly! TY, Saunni!

Silver Streak:  If Heavens will so bless me, then I will be so blessed.
May you have a warm and enlightened day, Newell.  Big smile for you!

Sunshine:  What a night; what a write!  I like that, Sunshine!  Your writing is
always fresh and clever.  Take good care and thank you!

Smart Chick:  as I also wish for your dreams to come true.  That was very nice
of you to say that, Smart Lady.  Perhaps they will come true...you never know!

To all of you, thanks so much!
