Teardrops Of Rain

Dribble dribble drip drop
splatter splatter splish splat
soulful drops of water splash the windshield
a day so surreal, grey reflections I feel

a respite from pain
a ride in the rain
smoothness of motion
numbs the emotions

the comfort of being
of feeling and seeing
that life still goes on
the world still turns
the sky still cries, big teardrops
after our loved ones have died

windshield wipers keep time
rhythm and rhyme
the road ahead glimmers
with teardrops wet shimmers

dark clouds in the sky
splashes of rain
remind me
I'm not alone in my pain

traffic flows in a steady stream
across the highway, headlights beam
through the twilight mist
so brightly they gleam

in each of those cars, a person so real
do they nurse the same wounds
do they feel as I feel?
do they cry the same tears?
have they lost someone dear?

though some days are bright
memories of loved ones we've lost
in spite of sunlight
will always remain
to comfort us
like teardrops of rain

Lyra, this is too beutiful for words to describe. May God continue to comfort you with sweet raindrops and fondest memories as you continue to walk along your days. Please remember that I will always cry with you.

(tears fall down my cheeks) You are never alone, sweet friend, all our hearts are with you always and everybody hurts sometimes, but His love will always find a way and will touch all our hearts deeply and fill us with hope as all the memories of our loved ones will forever shine in our hearts! (big hugggssssss) My heart goes out to you, sweet friend, I am always here for you if you ever need someone to talk to, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lyra, thank you for sharing!

I feel just like this Lyra, it has been raining her for a couple of days and it has been dark and gloomy, and my sons birthday is (supposed) to be this sunday, This poem is so timely for me. And so heartfelt. I know just how you feel...My prayers to you. floria

Lyra darling girl I really love this poem it is UTTERLY utterly fabulous. The flow is exactly the rhythm of the rain, and it’s soooooooo well written, as are all of yours. I can’t say I know these feelings darling girl because I’ve never lost a child. But I do empathise with you and know that I feel your sorrow too. Warm hugs to you darling heart, I know you carry him in your heart, and in your prayers. I carry you in mine too.

Take care darling girl always
This is awesome writing
