February 21, Every Year (In memory of Michelle) Today you emerged from hibernation. I felt you tapping the shoulder of my memory. Look, you said, I am swept under the heartbeat of memory, sleeping, covered by hours then by days finally by years until my laughter fades from memory and the sound of my voice is lost. I am only noticed when February cuts into your heart or in my picture one sided and posed. You look for me across the mountain top as if my ashes are what seed the ground and I can feel the pilgrimage of your feet upon my soul. Your heart beat is me and the ache in womb, the full blue veined breast of remembering is where you can find me and I will always be there, trust your tears. |

I play with words, they flutter around in my head, I smile at the turn and twist of them, they are my friends. *S* And yet, they desert me when I read something that fills my heart as completely as this does... and it's the same effect, no matter how many times the reading. It's magnificent, Martie... and because your words have led us to love both you and Michelle, you're in my thoughts and heart today. |

For Martie and Michelle, with love and admiration ...  ~*~ You took her to a mountain top, and in turn she gave you the view. You set her free, gave her to the earth and sea ... and then she gave those gifts back to you. She is the rain of renew that falls every spring, she is the cotton candy clouds that explain the sky. She is the sunrise that makes you feel silk lined... the full moon beguile that makes you sigh. There is a secret garden beyond the backyard gate verdant with memories and seasons in bloom. Where peach trees and butterfly flowers, keep their promises in buds of spring's perfume. There among the sunflowers, orange trees and cactus is found a softly keener place. Where a child twirls and unfurls, forever eight ... as a sapphire wind carries her memories trace. She is the spark in you poets pen and heart, she leaves your soul a sense of permanence. All your promises kept, the kind you cant blow out, she is the place where morning dwells in patience and innocence. Paper memories inscripted, melting time across bend of sky. She is with you always ... just "trust the tears" in your eyes. ~~~~~~~~~   |

I feel so honored you share her with us Martie, and although it is an anniversary she is there all year, only a more powerful memory once a year. I think Janet Marie said it like none of us really could, such wisdom and caring. May I say, my God bless you and always keep her a bright and shining light so one day you will see it immediately and be drawn to it in peace. Huge heart hugs to you Martie.
