Between a laugh and a tear...

0 posted 2002-02-21 06:16 AM

This may well be my last post, certainly the last one for a while anyway. I just wanted to thank everyone for their friendship, and support over the past two years. Suffice to say I’ll be back when, and if, I can. Take care all!

...for my Angel, as always!

Last Dance

Well it’s nine o’clock and the dishes are done
The heat still hangs from the long day’s sun
Another Sunday evening, angels finally off to bed
Wondrous dreams running wild through their heads

It’s that quiet time now, time for you, time for me
A chance just to sit and think, to reflect and see
We’re here in the kitchen, just a table and four chairs
With just the coffee and our company to dispel the cares

A broken tune fights to escape the static of the radio
A thoughtful smile reflects a memory from long ago
Rekindled anticipations of another time, another place
Of friends and lovers, of wedding nights and golden lace

As the evening settles to a forgotten song’s gentle rhyme
We feel the rhythm as our hearts slowly beat in time
We stand and smile as the clock it chimes twelve o’clock
A nervous smile as across the table our eyes they lock

Souls entwined, arm in arm with such a gentle embrace
Across that bare and dusty floor we danced with grace
I’ll recall that night I saw your eye, sparkle with the angel’s gleam
And as time melds into eternity, I’ll always dance with you in dreams

Our time is a dream, yet it is reality. It has not yet come to pass though centuries old. It’s just there, known, awaiting release. The thought of you is the life force of my soul, the very air I breathe. The flame you ignited burns bright in my heart and shall forever light my way!

Thank you!

Eagle,
if there had to be a last dance, I'm glad you graced the blue pages with this soaring write. *HuGS* Come back when you can. Know that I will miss you much.

Ahhhh...coffee and tears...you know I prefer sugar in my coffee So many dances have been shared in the pages of Blue my dear friend...my heart is heavy as I read this, but only you know the right roads to take...if you follow you instinct, trust in yourself my friend...we can be our own worst enemy...or our own best friend, the choice is up to us and from the wise words you have always freely shared with me...I know you will chose what I always have in you...my dear friend...

Where Angels Dance~

Through the tears I saw you there
The heart of an angel shining through
You took a moment to show you care
As I found comfort in the love of you

Past the crystal droplets I felt you near
With the arms of strength to hold me tight
With a firm grip you calmed my fear
Held in your embrace till morning light

Around the liquid healing I hear you call
Soothing voice drawing me out
Keeping me dry as the tears slowly fall
Giving me your voice with which to shout

Beyond the cleansing fall I sense your stroke
Removing the tears from my eyes
Planting a kiss upon wings long since broke
You lovingly place a rainbow in my skies

Replacing tears for stars in the ebony sky
You repainted all the scenes for me
Upon these wings I shall once again fly
Back to where the Angels dance...wild and free

Angel winged hugs and butterfly kisses to you always~

I shall be back, hopefully sooner rather than later, just for now though I need to go.

Butterflies, once again your words reach out. So good to read you again, thank you! Take care, one and all!

We will indeed miss your words of wisdom POET SIR...and who will I ponder fate and destiny with? *S* ...
but we all need to take a break now and then and sometimes life takes us away from poetry land...but the beauty is...we always save your spot.

Beautiful as the poem is, it’s your last lines that caught my eye. I wish the dream could be a reality for you. Sounds like there’s a touching unfinished love song there.
Whatever your reasons for leaving, I hope you wont be gone too long. Your poetry always gives me a smile or a tear. Certainly, an emotion of some sort. Do take care.
