Tangled Webs
~*Marge Tindal*~

Woven word by deceitful word
threads in silken-stretch so tightly
Choking off the verse of another
nightly after nightly after nightly~

When in the stark light of day
the wind blows the words away
All that's left in the tangled web
are morsels of honor in ebb~

Woven weave of wordy deceit
does not hold the web so neat
Falls away in dishonored verse
curse oh curse oh curse~

Spider has not an honored home
when woven with threads not his own~

~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~

I felt this one Marge. I especially loved this line:

"Spider has not a honored home
when woven with threads not his own~"

I think we are in total agreement!

When one gets caught in a web of deceit ~ one struggles to be released ~ the pain, fear and dread it breathes ~ scars it's soul forever.... Your words of wisdom, touched me deeply ~ Kudos!! Maggie ((~.~))

Very intense, my friend... and you're right.. A spider surely weaves best when using her own silk...

Hi Marge,

You are so right about deceit. That is why we should always do what we do in open bright light, in truth, even when people will be quick to scorn.

But when we do try to live in truth, isn't it so very true that people with beliefs different than ours, will be quick to judge us, according to their own thinking? Christ said in KJV John 8:15 "Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man." Shouldn't we try to follow His example? As we shine light on all the darkness of all deceit? With no judging? Isn't sin only in our hearts. How could we ever know what is in another person's heart?

Thanks for sharing your beautiful words.

Newell

Do I detect a hint of plagiarism?
To our craft the ultimate dishonor!

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Reading the title and seeing the picture, my mind was drifting back to walks in the woods that were marred by me unintentionally messing up a spider's work... Reading your words reminded me that such frustration is small (to me at least... can't speak for the spider *G*) compared to being tangled in or even exposed to the web of lies some weave with expertise. I could more easily spin silk myself than glue broken trust back together. This is excellent, Marge.

Excellent poem!!! I have been reading the news lately and it seems the Supreme Court will have to make a decision this fall on the length of copyright protection. Let's hope they make the right decision.

I thank you all so much for your replies on this one~

This one actually hurt too much for me to write ...
so my dear muse Ayrasela stepped in and purged it for me~

Yes ... plagiarism is a deceitful practice that cuts at the very heart of all poets ... but lies from a friend when confronted with facts of that deceit ... hurt so much more~

My heart cried this one~

All *hugs* greatly appreciated~
