Poor Suthern went to Toerag
She really was a mess.
She said, "My darling, there is something
That I must confess!"

That Balladeer came by last night
And woo'ed me with his rhymes
Then kissed me twice and held me tight
Then he took me three times!

I know my actions were a sin.
My love for you is true..
Please tell me what I must now do
To make it up to you.

He said, "This is quite serious.
I can't ignore these crimes.
Drink a glass that's filled full with
The juice from seven limes."

Suthern said, "Is that all, dear?
I'll be returned to grace?"
"No", he said, "but  it will wipe
That dumb smile off your face!!!!!"

’Deer dear heart well that had me laughing out loud and that’s something that I sorely need this week. Fabulous writing as always and perfect flow and rhyme.

Another for the favourite file, I can never have too many smiles

LOL! Thanks, all, for your comments. I really enjoy being able to put a smile on someone's face, especially when can really use one.

For those of you who don't know Suthern, she is a lady of the highest class who would probably break my arm if I ever even made a pass at her! Fortunately, she also has a wonderful sense of humor and tolerates me.

Duncan..no worries, good sir. My neighbor and good friend Sy (Seymour Tabin here) has accepted my invitation to come along so we will be chaperoned....darn it! I was SO SURE he would say no!

Bill Charles..er, call it poetic license!

ROFLMAO!!! I love this, Balladeer!!! I just wish I hadn't been drinking diet coke when I read it... though my desk did need cleaning. *G*

Here I was innocently (and fairly successfully *G*)hiding from the werk monster, surreptitiously peeking into poems, promising my chores that I'd get to them "in just a minute"... and then my composure started disintegrating the moment I glimpsed your title... and rapidly vanished completely. *G*

suthern's always a mess... and is sitting here with a dumb grin on her face... but I'm seriously missing some very interesting memories! LOL I know I'm blonde... but I swear I don't remember a thing. *G* Please tell me you're not that forgettable, Deer One!!! *bratty grin*

By the way, I don't just tolerate you... I adore you.... and I gave up breaking arms for Lent. *G*

Now where's that Toerag? *G* I grovel REAL well!!! ROFL.

I'm aghast, I can't believe
the words that I've just read.
I read it once, I read it twice
is it true what has been said?

It must be true, 'Deer said so.
That Balladeer don't lie.
He wouldn't tell a fib like this
he's an upstanding kinda guy.

I think I'll find a lawyer
perhaps I'll file a suit.
Amazing after all this time
Toe's still hoarding fruit.

Remember me with a smile on your face, or please don't remember me at all.
