I am not just another leaf
blowing carefree
in an Aspen wind,
nor a Colorado cloud
swiftly passing by
high in a stormy sky.
I'm as solid as
the Rockies
and forever as
a perpetual stream.
I'm not just a daydream
or an imaginery
midnight scream.
Feel the real,
I am stronger than
Bethlehem steel,
yet soft as
banana creme pie,
smoother than silk
from a butterfly.
I will be
your tasty treat,
this you will know
when we finally meet
in real touch time.
I live.
I breathe.
I feel.
I am real.
And I am on
my way to be
with you,
a bit'o honey
kissed by morning's dew,
a taste of sweetest wine,
treasured taste of time,
set aside
just
for
you.

This is more than a poem---it's a promise!

I love the resolve in this, and it flows beautifully from your heart, into ours, and I am sure, HIS.

What heartfelt thoughts…somebody’s a lucky guy. Did I read right, that you’re moving to Colorado? I’m so excited for you as you turn the page to a new chapter of your life.  But, be sure to still visit us here

Serenity, thank you sister of heart.
Noah, I've flown over ASpen. LOL, not as a leaf though. Not yet, anyway.
Tracey, yes. 'Tis true, and midnitesun will always shine for you, 'though I may be forced to take a short break this summer.

Sounds of a symphony of the heart.
I could hear the flutter of butterfly wings,
touch the clouds you so speak and
feel your strength ...

Freedom is a will...
and it is in your hands.

Marge, yes, a promise in the wind.

JM, thank you sweet poet priestess. I am looking forward to taking this new step.

Blues, hugs, and thank you. Yes, if I have to walk, I'll get there. Just kidding, I'm pretty sure I'll drive, or fly...by plane.

Thank you, each and every one, for sharing these feelings with me. It would be really tough to say goodbye to the northern lights  and all the wild beauty of Alaska if the destination wasn't so inviting. And if Love really does move mountains, that drive should be a snap.

That is why we have the capacity to make memories, and I know you will carry this place in your heart.  But I have to tell you where you are going is down right awesome too, and the perks are not too bad either   Great write Kacy (and do a poem about her on the horse will ya?) She is adorable.

Live today like it was your last day on earth!

Thank you, all my wonderful friends here, for your comments and encouragement. I have to read this again myself, to keep my focus on the destination and the future. It's a major move for us, but even the obstacles in the pathway seem to be enticing us rather than discouraging us. It's all about taking chances and bold steps forward. My kind of quest. BTW, Hans Gatt just won the Yukon Quest dog sled race. He had strong fast dogs, good strategy, and  Canadian luck.
Congratulations, Hans, on winning your Quest adventure.
