Painted With Thread

Consuming me wholly
I cannot express
Exactly what happens
As my work I assess
With needle in hand
And thread through the eye
We start our progression
My needle and I
A long road we travel
Through a legion of stitches
Taking care that
There are no glitches
Spinning a tale of a story you see
That show up on fabric
I'm sure you'll agree
This work is tedious
Right to the end
But when it is finished
My work does transcend
What I had imagined
When I first began
As I place it into a frame
My colored thread
A picture became.

I’ve always thought counted-cross stitch a wonderful
Way to pass the time,
Keeps the hands busy
And you end up with something wonderful to show for it,
Sort of like your words
And they threaded this lovely poem

strbbux - I've often watched someone do this, and I'm amazed at how well they make something beautiful out of stitching...

I have never done cross stitch, but I did try embroidery when I was younger (not that many years ago LOL), the finished product is what brings pride and emotion, just like our poetry.....wonderful poem strbbux !!!!

the title itself even says volumes!

it conjured up tender feelings

if you're interested in a free online poetry class, e-mail me, I'm having fun with it

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Isn't it great, when something small grows into something special? I like this idea, nicely done.
