There are many patches
that make up my life,
a patch  for a mother
a piece for a wife.

There is a strip of color
for eyes of emerald green,
threads of golden hair
stitched into every seam.

Little strips of lace
for the soft side within,
tiny remnants of leather
for the daring woman of sin.

Ruffles make up borders
for my delicate side,
a quilt layering for  things
that I'd much rather hide.

A collection of patches
putting my life on display,
all having been sewn together
to make me what I am today.

Knots tied securely
to show I am strong,
some stitches placed lightly
to correct when I'm wrong.

A combination of patches
just little pieces of ME,
all woven into the cloth
of my life's tapestry.

(for you, just cuz you asked...*w*)

On the wings of words our spirits fly....and our souls are free.

Donna, this is so true, we are made up of so many different patches, I love that thought, me?  I'm coming unraveled but I'm doing the best I can

Hamlet refers to his uncle as a king of patches...obvously a different mood there than here

Donna~

Lovely even the second time around.....life is but a tapestry of all things we endure and quilt.... much

enter my soul,
feel my desire,

Lauren, yes....enduring and adding to the tapestry....a never ending process....

thanks to all.  Hugs and peace.

Wow this is so unique gentle spirit, and since I quilt and to all those other needle things, I really and truly enjoyed this. floria
