He walks the cots at midnight
Pausing to give the last rites,
Growing old, tired, and bent,
Each day another year spent.

In the name of the Holy.

Everything he’s giving
To those that are just living,
Tending to the wool-less sheep
Whose sad cries invade his sleep.

In the name of the Holy.

He rises to serve each day,
It’s his life and it’s his way,
Going about with glazed eyes,
Somewhere another now cries.

Gloom

Wow this is wonderful gloom. A life of sacrifice indeed, I love this. floria

Thank you, Strbbux,
Glad you liked it, Although this is a real person,
I plan on weaving him into the ongoing Fantasy.
So I brought up the old poem about him.
