Tapestry

The poet weaves a tapestry
of sentences and rhymes
with words, both good and evil
of schemes and lives and times
feelings are the backdrop
that color truths and lies
words, like threads through fabric
make intricate designs
phrases hooked together
provide the ties that bind
with memories in the stitches
of loved ones who have died
emotions are the colors
they make us laugh and cry
tight threads bound together
fond hellos and sad goodbyes
form fringes round the edges
of the tapestry of life[/center]

Lyra - Your poetry sure does weave a wide array of beautiful images and emotions.  Very, very nice.

Larry...thank you, I may be darn good, but I never learned how to darn.

Floria...I also used to do a lot of needlework type stuff.  Crocheting, crewelwork and cross stitch etc....but I haven't had a needle in my hand for quite some time now.   Isn't it funny how today's grandmas are so different from ours.
Thanks for your reply

Sy...thanks so much for stopping by and replying to my poem.

Dave...thanks so much for that very unsarcastic reply.........unless I am missing something.  Did you have a NY pizza hidden in there somewhere

Newell...thanks so much for taking the time to read and reply to my poem.

Wanda...thanks so much for replying.  That needle and thread came from a website which keeps going down, and every time it does, the graphic disappears....so it looks like I get too lazy to sew sometimes, and that is actually the truth...usually.

Gentle Spirit...thanks so much for your reply.

Barry...thanks so much for saying it anyway...I appreciate your opinion.

Karen...thanks for reading and replying...I thought this was similar to the beautiful poem you posted yesterday...not exactly the same, but a lot of the same sentiments were expressed.

You've woven well a very special tapestry for our shining Startime. Keep up the fine needlework. BTW, can you weave me a magic carpet?
