You never saw it coming,
not even when
I slammed the door.
You came outside
and turned around,
looked at me
then asked
for more.
More of what?
The angry looks,
the spiteful words,
the chances for caring
and honest sharing
that rolled past your heart?
Why would I want any part
of that?
So I told you no.
It was time to go.
And I left,
and
never
looked
back.

(This was from long ago, another lifetime it seems.)

Hey---this is interesting. Saying goodbye to someone for me I find---is hard. I have too big a heart...and if I look into their eyes---then I becomes torture for me to see their pain. Well written, I liked this peice! Although, personally---I found the line scheme to be abit odd...but I'm not the poet---right?

Others are too in love with the sound of their own voice to speak the truth...

(big hugggsssssss) Soooooo sad but wonderfully expressed, sweet friend, I am so proud you had the courage to stand up like that and force out sincerely how you felt and what you really wanted! (kiss on cheek) I hope all is alright now, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

"And never looked back"

Love it! Awesome write here! I'm glad that you never looked back! If only I could learn to have that attitude! Thanks for sharing this!

I never realised I could still love until I met him...

Yep, never look back, never regret. Skyfire, sometimes the other person's behavior makes it easy to say goodbye.

Dear Kacy,
This flows very well, and the emotion is strong. Very nice poem.

Midnitesun, an emotional write here and it took a lot of courage to do what you did and I am sure it was for the best! Great write!

This was ancient history for me, but it needed to be released, once and for all. Thank you, dear friends. Sometimes writing helps to delete a chapter that should never have been in anyone's book.

LOL at your reply, Richard. Nothing like being busted, heh?
Thanks to all friends for reading. Saying goodbye, at the right time, sometimes just takes following a basic survival instinct.
