"A Safari," he said,
"Not with elephants, savage
lions, stiff-necked giraffes;
but with the mind, with
the eyes of a dreamer."

In the background,
the sound of a Macaw
trilling out wonder
at the passage of another
idea.Trailing after
earth-tones, zebra-striped
pillows, sheep-skin slip covers
accenting the spirit of Safari,
the warmth of the thought.

"See what can be,"
he whispered, "Not what is."

And then, I heard the lions
roaring, the giraffes munching
on the succulent leaves
of an Acacia tree, the elephants
stomping out a rhythmic declaration,
an invitation to join in the Safari.
