I Heard Your Name
By Larry Chadwick

I walked into the memory of you,
Surrounded by who you are.
It came upon me unexpectedly,
When I left that door ajar.

Flooded by the thought of you,
With all you meant to me.
It caught me by surprise,
And made it hard to see.

Emotions are so strong,
They wet my eyes with tears.
Some are sad but most are joy,
As I reflect upon those years.

It happens far less often now,
But impacts me just the same.
The pleasure of having known you,
When into my life you came.

Good byes cannot be perfect,
For they always cause such pain.
Now all those memories are mine,
And are all connected with your name.

So though it brings a tear to me,
For finding you have left this place.
Just to hear your name again,
Puts a smile upon my face.

Dave,
Thanks. Glad you liked it.

Newell.
Thanks buddy. The reason I know you're young at heart is because before I saw your picture...I thought you were in your 20's!
