Play Enchanted Nights Midi

~* I Remember When *~

Yes, I remember when I would not have been alone,
but here I sit, an audience of one, watching as ever so slowly
he paints the sky with hues from his celestial palette just for me.
What master has ever been able to create such wonder?
The veil of evening drapes in a whisper to awaken
the ebony hours of my innermost dreams and memories.
Breathing in the day, I smile at how it soothed me.
Drenched in the sensuous curves of life’s landscape,
I watched feathered clouds journey to nowhere.
Time means nothing to me anymore unless I am in it,
holding it close to my heart and spirit, absorbing it.
So tenderly Mother Nature holds me to her trunk
and shares her song of life with me each day.
I still myself now to hear her words, and realize
I have waited far to long to savor this melody.
In the reflection of a trillion diamonds
my spirit soars to thoughts of wonder and love.
Pushing back my hair, I feel the kiss of a breeze on my neck,
taking me back to my first love’s anticipated kiss.
In the soft rustling of the leaves, another memory unfurls
as I go back to years of taffeta dresses of cornflower blue.
The dreams of love I had in those days were of
giggles, Avalon and so much more.
These whispers in the coolness of the wind start me
humming songs now regarded as “golden oldies”,
I smile, releasing a small chuckle as if to say to myself,
"yes dear heart, but they were goodies”.
My eyes drink in the reflection of the heavens on the sea,
the beauty of it brings peace and serenity
once again so settled is my mind and soul.
These are my magical hours with no rhythm or rhyme,
saturated in the beauty of creation all around me.
I see the magnitude of all things graced by his touch,
and stand in awe that I am so lucky to be a small part of this wonder.
I remember all phases of my life this day, with no regrets,
and wonder when again I will be standing on this same beach,
And how much wiser will I be than I am now?

There are places I go back to,
To remember times and things I used to do,
To conjure up faces through time’s veil,
Pondering place like this you describe so well.

This is a wonderful reflective poem. Sharon, you write so magically, and the words flow so gracefully. It's funny, how this feels comfortable, as if it's a shared 'sister' skin.

Having a "gee where did all the years go kind of day", so thank you for tailing along with my thoughts today.  We are all so lucky to live in this wonderful world, and I wanted to give thanks I think, and of course I thank you all.

With a smile, and a salty memory trickling down my cheek... I applaud a winning work of poetic art. "So tenderly Mother Nature holds me to her trunk and shares her song of life with me each day." Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!! You get better with each passing day! Maggie ((~.~))

You my Lady know exactly how to do just that. I hope you know you are my Mentor! What words could possibly describe this? How about Dazzling. You are much too vivacious for simply wonderful. LOL. This is so great.

Regina
