Garden in Memory

The lower terraces of this ancient garden
are enclosed in hand laid shale,
red lichen oozes between layers.

A narrow brick staircase
leads to cool interiors
where cinnamon ferns
and feather leafed fans

Sheltered from coastal winds,
the fog is at home here.

Nothing stirs.

Corinne,
dream garden! I'll bet the weather is always perfect too. Vivid write.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

I can even hear the birds' songs from that lovely lower terrace... You paint such a rich landscape.!

Cherish the good memories past and look forward to the adventure called Tomorrow.
But above all... be kind to yourself today.

Thank you for letting me stroll in that garden, along the narrow pathway, and feel the feathery ferns. And to rest in the fog,
like a Sandburg cat's paw.
