Do the petals of your heart?
feel like a blue morning glory
craving the lips of the sun
a sweet kiss of moistened dew
delicious rain of rejuvenating hues
wilting petals of a once bouquet
slowly wilting in eyes of the dark
listening for violins to embark
drifting upon fragrant winds
in search of tenderness
Do the petals of your heart?
feel like a blue morning glory
in a blue raging river of drought
drowning within a blossom of a wish

"Silence is a friend who
will never betray."
— Confucius

Morning Glory is indeed a good analogy for my heart! Grinning now, have you ever tried to remove a Morning Glory, or even keep it confined to one area? Laughing, it just keeps growing and growing...

Love this.

Each word is exquisitely melded into the other to create a delicate but alluring beauty. So very nicely done Victoria! It just floats through your mind.

I really loved the delicacy of this one, Victoria....as well as the beautiful imagery.

I especially loved these lines

Do the petals of your heart?
feel like a blue morning glory
in a blue raging river of drought
drowning within a blossom of a wish

Blue morning glories are even more beautiful when you write of them Victoria, floria

Perfectly colorful, flowing, and I think I say yes to it. Though "he" would not.

Hey Vic!  mmmmm good......!!
I like the analogy of how we wither, our flower-hearts stay closed,
immune
until sparked by a glowing rain
then shimmer in glory

awesome gurl!  as always!

I loved the use of your metaphors in this one and the relation to human feelings and actions.  Great poem Victoria.

Victoria,
I was in first grade when I discovered blue morning glories. I thought they were delightful and so is this poem!
