  Four   ages

A child I am.
New born to the sun!
Happily at play I ran.
Life had just begun.

And new love is sweet,
As her smooth arms and mine
Encircled, and intertwined ,
Clasp and meet.

And middle life is bold.
Not callow youth , nor yet old.
With strength and purpose make my way.
In proud dominion holding sway.

And now life is old.
Pallid ,shaking ,timorous cold.
Racked ,limp and short of breath.
Confront our end,but:
T'is only death.

Arthur, This is very well done, showing the full circle of life.  Enjoyed much.

I don't think everyone had a chance to see, and appreciate this so we shall give it a little bump!

Well done, Arthur...I guess that men have seasons to their lives...just as women do.
I wrote one like this but it was about women.

arthur, I agree with Startime. A seed must die before and new tree can grow. I enjoyed very much. Thanks for sharing.
