Listening to every heart

0 posted 2002-02-16 09:13 AM

Sing to Me

Neil is on
As first he sings up
Then sweeps slow
Now deep, and low

Love grows
In his voice
No choice
Turn the TV off

So I may hear the words
Touch Replay
Touch soft

He says
One true love
Can turn it all around
Can take you to the light

Today I will shop
For that one red dress
Cut up to here…

Again and again
He asks
If he can come
Into my heart

I welcome him

He wails a forgiving
Plea
Wants to come
Back, to win my love,

I welcome him

He includes everyone
In his song
…still
He sings to me

He wants to get
Lost in my eyes
For a
Lifetime

I welcome him

Perhaps my poem
Would have 30 years
Of lasting appeal
If he sang … just one

Have you ever felt lost?
Perhaps as a teen?
As I did,
But not when

Neil sings

He has aged most gracefully,
So can I help it
If I wonder what he sees
In his mirror if it were
In my morning’s light

Do I care?  {See me smile…}

And I wonder
Are you man enough
…even though I think
You are

Would you?
Could you?

Play
Neil for me?

Karilea - I am assuming you are talking about Neil Diamond, but I don't think you are listening to that "They're Coming to America" song when you are feeling this way about his music.lol  Enjoyed.

Men like red! Go for it!  However, I have my thoughts about "one true love", but will keep them to myself but I loved the concept and the poem, and Neil too.

Auntie Kari hi there, do you know that one of mum’s favourite singers is Neil Diamond, she will love this one. I do know it’s a beautiful piece of writing, and I can hear mum singing now, no you really don’t want to, she cannot sing

I think this is lovely a perfectly penned delight, which flows like music, not mum’s music really good writing here

Kari darling sister of my heart, IS there anywhere that wretched girl didn’t get to?

I see she told you that Neil Diamond is one of my favourite singers, and as for that crack about my singing well really that is just too much.

This is an utterly wonderful poem it’s flow is perfect.

Never favored red myself...but the men seem to like it...
Like flies to honey I tell you...

This piece was most interestingly written. Great work, from a sharp mind straight to superb ink

*shaking head, completely befuddled* *G* I must have slipped into some time warp to have missed so many of your wonderful poems... either that, or it really is time for bifocals. LOL

About the time this was written, I got to see Neil in concert... I would gladly have sacrificed the few minutes of sleep I got that night for just one more song... for however long the concert, it's never long enough. *S*

Ahh yes ... his music stays with you just as much as Gordon's does.  Nice to see some of us out there still hold to the ones that pulled the questions of life into one bag and gave us the reasons without having to answer them.  Very nice write.

Oh KARILEA I absolutely love Neil Diamonds music and voice.....
I am I said
to no one there...
and no one heard at all......
not even the chair.....
I can hear it.....feel it....
remember it....
thank you sweet lady...
