Without a Dream

I did not dream today
Just went my weary way.
Did the chores shopped the stores
Separated mine from yours.

Sat down in my comfy chair
Put the TV on the air.
Pushed the buttons one by one
Turned it off and that was done.

Got a book went to read
Even that went to seed.
Missed my flight of fantasy
Missed my cup of ecstasy.

I shifted things from place to place
Put an object every space.
But could not find a place for me
My boat was dry docked you see.

Oh weary me oh weary me
I sorely miss my fantasy.

The sandy shift of time that be
awash my day with fantasy
let me roam the land where dragons lay
and allow me all the nightmares, slay!

But reality gave me a soak
and I a rightly upright bloke
went about my daily chores
e'en though I was greatly bored...

Now here I seek a winsome dream
and will she peak from beyond moon's beam?
Will she alight my shoulder fair
and give me yet her daily dare?

For I rightly need her placed by me
and Randy shall come to sit at tea
raspberry blend, that she shall pour
while we watch Sun set at Forevermore

Seymour darling boy absolutely first class writing, I love this ‘tis utterly excellent when you write you really do Write

Utterly fabulous piece of writing You know I love it don’t you? It’s outstanding

If fantasy write is what you seek
Then in these pages take a peek
Read of dragons and their lords
Maidens rescued by knightly sword
Wander through forests darkly green
Peer through mists at sights unseen
Here’s your fantasies take a look
Read of wonder in this back

Bravi Bravi Bravissimi

What can I say except this is utterly wonderful.

Love and warm stuff

Sy,
you sound a little bored. Perhaps you need a holiday. I'm sure Randy would take you to the place of fantasy and rasberry tea.

Stinky's got the Ho-hum blues ...
his dragon needs to walk in another's shoes.
He's tired of the talk of the same ole same,
bored by the balk of reality's game of tame.

He needs to sail across serendipity seas of serenity
his wings need glee to fly free on a spree to infinity.
But a dragon cant soar without a theme of dream ...
he needs a change of scene where he can scheme.

When I read this verse of confined converse ...
its occurs to me he's under a constricting curse.
So I must find the key to this doldrums cage
find the degree of free to return him to his randy rage.

No ... a dragon without a rhyme scheme dream just wont do ...
for when this dragon flies my skies ... there is no finer view of true.

I went in search of the--

To set your free

perhaps he would join me in a cup of tea

then we'll fly to the to sail on serenity.

Then on to the to the stars of infinity.

~~~~~~~~
SO? any of these ring Randy's bell?
Ching his chimes?
Put the dream of scheme back in his rhymes?
If he needs more degree of free than this ...
pehaps I need to call out the gator girls with kiss of bliss.
Seymour - Great flow from beginning to end.  Life can definitely be mundane without dreams, but I'll take no dreams over my nightmares anyday.lol
Ah, I was having a day just like this one in your poem, but then everyone jumped in with great happy thoughts for you. So I guess I must sit depressed by mysef.
Love this, it sure gets that feeling across well.
(BIG HUGGGSSSSSSSS) Oh Seymour, this is so very sad, my heart goes out to you! (sigh) I believe the joys of life belong in dreams, and we must always hold our dreams close or life can always be mundane! Know that you a very loving and special person to us all and we all love you so much for who you are, never change! (sigh) My heart goes out to you, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Seymour, thank you for sharing!
May love and light always shine upon you!
Love,
Very well written..... Most of the people I know anyway struggle with what is their real place in life... we all know what we do.... but what is our real place... funny question isn't it... the whole thing
I have been selfish..to think that your verse imbues fantasy on any lady's heart and have no need to thrive on one of your own. We must have higher regard for that fantasy then.....as long as you kiss and tell. ~wink!
There are days like that, aren't there. Maybe they are to keep us humble, or to give us some balance.
Maybe if we stayed in fantasy all the time, we'd become comatose to reality and be good for nothing in emergencies.
Okay, too much of a downer? Sorry.
I loved your poem, I so easily identified with it, when enterprise and fantasy seem to be far off dreams reserved for someone else.
It's wonderful we don't have to stay there. Our muse gets to come back and pick us up now and then. Yours will too, I know or you wouldn't be Seymour.
Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
fantasy and ecstasy
come to men who view and see
revel in the perfect phrase
of Life's gifts, to their amaze --
Home is home, the easy chair,
comfort found when resting there
and this song you've written sings
spirit of your soul on wings --
human hearts are meant to love,
god, the virtue from above
giving hope to fill and sate
wisdom 'fore it's much too late --
home is home, the word itself
gift not destined for a shelf,
all you have are goals for me.,
comfort, peace, and truths to see --
thank you for your verse, my friend,
and for letting me attend
to reply with honesty....
through you,
i see hope
in me
I loved the poem, and you just have to believe, and it will come back.  Poor Seymour with no fantasy, must be terrible.
Live today like it was your last day on earth!
