Into the darkness
round, I peer...
illusion of
"there's nothing here"
Into the dark
I gather, keep,
to discipline my dreams of sleep.

There in black lies future, bright.
A twinkling star in dead of night.
A destination, pulls me nearer
as I gaze the scrying mirror.

What is the future to be hold?
Pewter? Silver? Sparks of gold?
We cannot test the metal's ply
until we look in darkness--SCRY.

Karen-
Did I somehow drink from your cup at carnival?
The parallels are uncanny between this poem and mine.

What do our dreams portend? Better yet who might pretend?

Love this

There is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar.

Jamie? I confess, I wrote this poem as an improv experiment with Sharon (pdv) and I did just read your beautiful poem. If this is too similar, let me know and I'll take care of it, k?

and HUGS...I guess I could obviously relate.

A vision of magic fills my eyes as I watched you gaze into the scrying mirror to see if the cloudy vision would clear and show you the true future...Magnificent...Stunning. I love it...**big hugs**

Ok, but only if I can hold my hands over my eyes and just peek between the fingers.

serenity - I love your poem. At times you write with deep sadness, but they are very good.. More to write, and I will read...

Wow...I'm truly flabbergasted. Last night Sharon and I (poet DeVine) just decided to write from the top of our heads--and I must confess that the inspiration from this poem came from reading Jamie's beautiful post, although subconsciously, because for a subject of inspiration, I picked up the nearest catalogue and used the first object I found as my focus. A fun exercize, and I urge you all to try it! Thanks again, for all of your lovely replies! I love this place and the poets that inhabit!

Hey, can I look into one of your dreams at night, or maybe take just a little peek into the top of your head for an inspiration or two?  Excellent write!

serenity-
I'm liking this one lots.
Very cool write, my friend.
I love the idea of just looking in
a catalogue or even a magazine and finding
something to focus on in your writing.
I'll have to try that...maybe it will
help to wake up my sleeping muse.
Hugs,
~Vicky
