Listening to every heart

0 posted 2002-02-25 09:32 PM

16 Was Long Ago

strands of words were softly braided
through skeins of music recklessly woven
and draped me lovingly in silk, did he
with patterned patter of tender loving

and I will never forget him

soft, then softer, held by his voice
and lost, O lost, there was no choice
and yearn, O yearning, I was quit
forbore I then of any wit

and I will never forget him

heavy lashes hooded soft brown eyes
jet dusk hair softly characterized
his nondescript sense of abject living
but yet he had this way of giving

and I will never forget him

he was such a young man's bad boy
captured females' hearts as his toys
and yes, O yes I fell for his ploy
and the parents, O, he annoyed…

and I will never forget him

there's always one, there's always him
that one who keeps a romance's whim
when strands of words are softly braided
and a love like that will never be sated

and we will never forget them.

Hey, were we in love with the same guy?? This sounds like my love at 16!!! You’ve written this very well, and brought some sweet memories. Yes, we will never forget them. Good one Karilea.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Kari darling sister of my heart and I’ll never forget this it’s outstandingly good. Your poetry has been wonderful of late and this is so full of that old reminiscence that almost buried memory that still manages to call you back to when. You’ve written this utterly brilliantly. Fabulous work darling girl utterly fabulous

...I know I will never forget him!...
Karilea, I thank you for this one tonight.
You brought back a heartful of remembers I thought I had tucked away in the tiny recessed corners of my mind.

Sunshine - I am so glad that my sister, Enchantress told me of this poem. It is fantastic. No, we won't ever forget them. I enjoyed reading this. Chris
